So I’ve been blogging for almost a year! That went quickly. One of the best, and unexpected, things for me has been the friendships I’ve built up with other bloggers. In particular, my Twitter friends.
I’d never really used Twitter before starting the blog. One year on I have 6000 followers and tweet daily. As well as the many wonderful folks I connect with from those 6000 followers, I’m also part of a smaller, supportive group of Twitter friends.
They are brilliant. Always stopping by to comment on posts and if I ever have a question about blogging related stuff, there is someone to help. Even with the dreaded technical stuff that drives me nuts at times!
In honour of our little group, a few of us have decided to do a little blog tag post with some questions to find out more about each other.
So without further ado, here are my answers to the questions.
Emm’s questions.
1. What is one thing you do every day to look after yourself?
I try to meditate daily. I started meditating about eight or nine years ago. I’ll admit I was pretty sporadic with it for a long time, only really doing it when I was stressed.
A couple of years back, I discovered Insight Timer, a brilliant app packed full of guided meditations, music and courses.
I usually plug my earphones in, pick a guided meditation and drift away for five or ten minutes most evenings. Bliss!
2. Who is your ultimate celebrity crush?
He’s probably not as much of a celebrity now The Vampire Diaries has finished, but I could gaze into Ian Somerhalder’s eyes all day!
Couldn’t find a royalty free photo of him, so here’s a little video! Even better in my opinion! And I’d forgotten he was also in Lost.
.
Be still my beating heart 😍
3. What is one thing you do to keep your mindset positive?
I started a habit well over a year ago now of writing down three good things that have happened each day in my journal. Even on difficult days, or days where not much has happened, I’ve still managed to think of three good things. This keeps me focused on the positive.
Marie’s Questions
1. What three items do you never leave home without?
My lipstick, my keys and my purse!
2. What was the last thing you watched on YouTube?
The Ian Somerhalder video above!
Prior to that, was a video on life coaching. I’m studying for a Diploma in Life Coaching, and the tutor sent me some links to excerpts from life coaching sessions to watch. It’s fascinating stuff.
3. What’s your screensaver/background on your phone?
My cat Elphie is my background on my phone. I have some random screensaver that seems to change itself every so often. Currently it’s some colourful houses somewhere. Kind of looks a bit Scandinavian.
Loniesha’s Questions
1. What are some healthy foods you eat regularly?
I eat tons of tomatoes, they are my favourite thing in a salad. I also love them on their own with olive oil and salt and pepper, yum!
Bananas feature a lot in my diet too, I have them as snacks and also in smoothies. I like lots of healthy stuff now I think about it, particularly fruit and vegetables. I definitely get my five a day!
2. What’s in your bag?
Just looked and I have the following items in my bag today:
- Paracetamol
- Purse
- Random coins that fell out of the above purse
- Loose receipts
- Handcream
- Phone
- Pens
- Makeup bag
3. When you feel yourself starting to burn out, how do you cope?
I take a break. Very often I’ll go for a walk and get some fresh air. Or I’ll meditate. Basically, I will try and do things to relax and take my mind off things.
My Questions
1. What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about learning new things and self-development. This was one of the reasons for starting this blog! I try and learn something new every day and also to share what I’ve learned to help others.
2. What superhero would you be?
Even though I asked this question, I’m now struggling to think of an answer! I was writing a post about finding your superpower when I came up with these three questions, so think I was influenced by that!
Ok then, if I had to choose one it would be Storm. I could definitely do with being able to control the weather as I live in the UK!

3. What’s the best place you’ve visited?
It’s hard to pick just one as I’ve been to quite a few amazing places. I would say the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain is probably one of the best places. I’ve been twice, once with hubby and once with my best friend.
When I went with hubby, we stayed in a house out in the countryside near Granada. Whilst lazing by the pool, I was reading The Constant Princess which is all about Catherine of Aragon (Henry VI’s first wife) who lived in the Alhambra Palace. So when we visited the palace, I kept imagining Catherine walking about there followed by her ladies in waiting!
(If you click on this link from the UK scroll down a bit, for some reason it’s showing a book about dragons instead, but The Constant Princess is under it!)
I hope you enjoyed my answers to the questions posed by my Twitter friends! Check out their answers to the questions too.

These are cool questions and I loved reading more about you! That wallpaper is so lovely, it kinda looks like somewhere in Sweden or Denmark haha. I always have to have hand lotion in my purse as well! You becoming a life coach is really exciting and you are totally fit for it 🥰
Alison
Thanks Geraldine, yes I thought it looked like Sweden or Denmark too. It’s changed itself again today and now appears to be Venice! I’m loving the life coach training, it’s fascinating 😊
