We spend so much time and energy building our physical fitness, but what about our MENTAL FITNESS?

Have you even HEARD of this concept before??

Imagine how fantastic it would feel if you could quickly build new habits in order to respond to life’s challenges positively.

To be calm, clear-headed, and focused, and to approach problems with curiosity and creativity.

Over a 7 week period this summer, this is exactly what I did!

As a result, I’m performing better in all areas of my life, and yet I also feel calmer, more focused, and happier than I ever have before.  And now I’m so excited to be able to share exactly what I’ve learned with you so that you can feel this way too. 😃

First things first – what is mental fitness?

You know how much better you feel when you are physically fit.  If your fitness is waning a little (or a lot) you know what to do to get back on track.  You know how you can measure it.

But how about your mental fitness?

You could be more successful, feel happier and have better relationships at work and at home, but how do you boost your mental fitness?  And how do you measure it?

Put simply, mental fitness is your capacity to respond to life’s challenges with a positive rather than a negative mindset.

My brand new Mental Fitness Kickstart Program is based on this brilliant best-selling book, Positive Intelligence by Shirzad Chamine,  I undertook the program myself, led by Shirzad, back in the summer of 2022 and now I’m so excited to be able to share everything I learned and change the lives of so many other people.

I undertook the program with a couple of other coaches, here’s what one of them said:

“This program has changed how I think. I used to get overwhelmed and anxious almost all the time but that’s reduced more than I really thought possible. I’ve learned how to show myself greater compassion, how to centre myself, have greater command of my thoughts (no more spiralling anxiety), focus and actually enjoy my life more. It was great having the accountability and support of working through the program as a small group, sharing experiences and ideas. Enrolling on the program and engaging with it wholeheartedly was the best decision I’ve made for my happiness and development”. – Laura Marconi-Cox

The program incorporates original research, bringing together neuroscience, positive psychology, cognitive behavioural psychology, and performance science in a way that’s easy to understand and quickly apply.

Mental fitness is measured on a ratio of how much time you react to negative emotions such as stress, guilt, shame, regret, and anger (your saboteurs) vs how much time you react to positive emotions such as empathy, curiosity, gratitude, and calm, laser-focused action (your sage).

If you have a little bit of extra time, I highly recommend you watch the video below where I explain everything in much more detail.

Still wondering if the mental fitness program is for you?

It definitely is if you:

  • Doubt yourself and lack confidence
  • Make progress but then sabotage yourself/backtrack
  • Procrastinate over decisions and taking the action which will move you forward
  • Feel like an imposter
  • Are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and out of your depth
  • Want to build new healthy habits which will impact your whole life, not just your working life

Over the 7-weeks of the program, you will learn simple and implementable techniques and feel motivated through instant feedback on your progress in building the 3 core muscles of mental fitness.

You will be supported by me as your coach and will have accountability through weekly group coaching sessions. Research has shown this to be a critical success factor for establishing lasting new positive habits of the mind.

The impact?

Like my fellow coach Laura,  the program has been life-changing for me.  I’ve found the daily challenges in the app to be simple to apply yet profound in their impact.

For example, one of my top saboteurs is ‘hyper vigilant’, I’m sure many of you can identify with this one.  It’s the one that has you questioning ‘what if’ to every single scenario and keeps you anxious and panicky.

I’ve always been open and honest about the struggles I’ve had with anxiety in the past and over time I’ve built up an impressive toolbox of things that help me and love to share these tools with you.

Here’s a really simple but very effective tool I learned as part of the Mental Fitness Program.

80:20 buckets 🪣🪣

First of all, ask yourself – the worry you have right now, can you do anything about it?

If not, then put it in the 80% bucket along with anything else which fits this category.

Then for your remaining worries, ask yourself are any of them things you can deal with or need to deal with imminently.

Yes? Then make a plan for these and put them in the 20% bucket.

What do you have left?

My guess is some ‘what ifs’.

Trust that you have the skills and ability to come up with a plan for the ‘what ifs’ if and when they happen. Then stick them in the 80% bucket along with the stuff you have no control over.

Put the 80% bucket down and go take some action on the 20% bucket.

Feeling lighter? I know I do whenever I ask myself which bucket a worry belongs in 🙂

This is just one of the many simple exercises included in the exclusive app which forms part of the Mental Fitness Kickstart Program.  The app tailors daily exercises to you, depending on how you tend to self-sabotage.

The impact of this program is far-reaching and includes the following benefits:

  • Peace of mind, confidence, and less self-doubt
  • Increased performance and productivity
  • Improved relationships (at work and at home)
  • More happiness in your life

Want some of this for yourself??

I’m SO excited to be opening the door to enrollment for my first Mental Fitness Kickstart Progam.

As this is my first group program I’m offering it at a very special, not to be repeated pilot price.

We start on Monday 16th January 2023 (with the first weekly content available on Saturday 14th January).

Sign me up!

Here’s exactly what the program includes

Weekly Focus – 1-hour video sessions (broken into bite-sized chunks)

The weekly videos land on a Saturday, giving you all weekend to dive into the topic for the week.  The videos give you the theory and interactive exercises to inspire and energise you for the week ahead.

Weekly Group Coaching Sessions and Closed Community

Weekly group coaching sessions of around 30 minutes for the duration of the program.   Each week has a theme and gives everyone the opportunity to reflect, celebrate wins, discuss challenges, and ask questions.

In between sessions you will receive support from me as your coach, have the opportunity to share and gain accountability from a closed community group,

Daily App Guided Practice

15 minutes/day of guided practice through the Positive Intelligence®  PQ app to establish mental muscles (neural pathways). These exercises are bite-sized to fit your busy schedule and customised based on how you self-sabotage.

This has been one of my favourite parts of the program, so simple yet so effective.  After the program has finished, you still have access to all the useful stuff on the app for twelve months and also have the option to continue with new daily practices and additional video content.
