I’ve been meaning for some time to bring you a series of motivational and inspirational stories of success.  Finally, I’ve got round to it!

My first guest in the series is Jennifer who recently contacted me to review her new life-changing course Alignment Is The New Hustle.

This course is designed for people who feel like they’re living out of alignment with themselves.  It has helped me hugely in unlocking limiting beliefs that were previously hidden to me and in building a plan to get past these.

I’m pretty new to all things ‘Law of Attraction’ and the course explains all the principles in easy to understand, bite-sized chunks with loads of practical exercises along the way.

I’ve also been struck by Jennifer’s wisdom as well as the story of how the course came about.

Jennifer’s story of becoming an entrepreneur is truly inspiring.  She’s even found time to train for an Iron Man triathlon along the way!

Can you start by telling us a little bit about yourself?

inspirational stories of success jennifer

Hi there, I’m Jennifer! I’m a former psychologist, start-up founder and intentional life creation coach. I’m very passionate about life and I’m a huge advocate of daydreaming, thinking big and self-love.

Why did you decide to become a Psychologist?

When I had to choose my study, I had a few options in mind.  I figured it would be a good idea to pick something I would read about in my spare time, so psychology it was!

I chose the direction of Clinical and Health Psychology because I have always been fascinated by the way people work, and I love to help others.

What made you decide to give up your job, go travelling and then become an entrepreneur?

When I quit my job, I had no idea I would become an entrepreneur.  I just felt like I wasn’t on the right path.

I knew I had to ‘zoom-out’, and travel is perfect for that.  I’ve always wanted to go to Australia, so the destination was an easy one for me.  As soon as I started dreaming about this plan, there was no way back for me. It was too exciting, I had to act on it!

It took me a while to move past fears and doubts and find the courage though. I ended up living in Australia for one year. Somehow, “wandering” around the country inspired me for a start-up idea and before I knew it, I came home as a newbie entrepreneur!

What challenges have you faced in making this change?

I think entrepreneurship is one big personal development game.  I seriously had to work on my self-confidence, money mindset, and much more.

Getting rid of limiting beliefs was/is definitely my biggest challenge.  Other than that, it wasn’t always easy to face the reaction from my surroundings when I came home.  I was changed, and my life’s perspective was too.

What has been the best thing that’s happened as a result?

I’ve had a LOT of adventure and fun ever since I “changed” my direction. The best part of that is probably the many amazing people that have crossed my path along the way.

Tell us a bit more about your course Alignment is the New Hustle, why did you create it?

This course is 100% inspiration and experience made, and it’s built upon the common ground between psychology, spirituality and science.

It’s basically the product of the past three years of my life.  I believe I lived my experiences in order for me to now be able to inspire others.

The purpose of this course is to empower others to be conscious about their lives, to open up a world of possibilities for themselves by shifting their way of thinking and to help them get rid of what is stopping them for living their dream life.  I called it an ‘Intentional Life Creation Course’

What does ‘Alignment is the New Hustle’ mean?

In short, it means that living in alignment with your true self is way more powerful than ‘hustling’.

Many people nowadays push hard to get what they want, including the younger me, and it’s exhausting people.

I don’t think life is meant to be that way and it’s not making us happy either!  Instead, I suggest we focus on our well-being, our ‘whys’ and on that important connection with ourselves.

Once you find yourself creating your life from this point of view, you start living in a state of flow.  Things just happen as you’d like them to, whilst you feel good and energised!

Tell us what benefits people can expect to get from the course.

I experienced myself how you can get, achieve and do what you want in a more effortless and fun way.

With this course, I want to pass on everything I learned, tested and implemented in my own personal life.

The course will reconnect you with your true self, inspire you to think big, help you to get rid of anything that’s holding you back, and guide you towards turning your dreams into reality.

Basically, the course pushes the reset button on your life.

If you have the courage to get real honest with yourself and do all the exercises and daily practices, it will be life-changing!

When did you first come across the Law of Attraction/Manifestation?

When I was at a low point in my life, someone told me to watch The Secret.

I know now that this movie doesn’t include a lot of important information, but the main message is powerful.  I started to realise that my outer world was a reflection of my inner world.

If I wanted to change the storylines of my life, I had to start telling myself new stories.  This was an important ‘aha’-moment for me and the beginning of my ‘obsession’ with intentional creation, haha!

Why do you believe it’s so powerful?

Because it makes you realise how powerful the mind is.

It also highlights the impact of the way we become ‘programmed’ as little children.  Understanding the Law of Attraction and the way manifestation works makes you a powerful creator of your own life!

What advice would you give to someone who is feeling a bit ‘stuck’ and as though they aren’t living their best life?

Get really honest with yourself, zoom-out on your life, turn within to find the answers that you’re looking for and be courageous.

What do you do to relax?

I meditate for one hour every morning, which is my favourite part of the day.  I love to do yoga, recharge in nature and laugh a lot with my friends!

How do you stay positive?

This might sound weird, but I found a way to talk to my mind.  I consciously guide my thoughts.

Our minds are addicted to worry, so for me to stay positive, it’s really important to pay attention to the dialogue that’s going on between my inner being and that voice inside my head!

You talk a lot about overcoming limiting beliefs in the Alignment is the New Hustle course, what is the best way to do this?

First, it’s important to understand how limiting beliefs were ‘called’ into your life in the first place.

Find out what it is that is holding you back through introspection and meditation.  Once you have a clear understanding of your limiting beliefs, remove the energy from these limiting beliefs out of your body.

The next step is to ‘consolidate’ new constructive beliefs, that support your dreams and desires!  Practising affirmations is one powerful way to do this.

What should people do when they are feeling positive but they are surrounded by negative people?

Set the intention to stay in alignment with yourself. Protect your energy, for example by imagining yourself being wrapped around a pink bubble gum, that doesn’t let the energy from anyone else in.

It also helps to focus upon what you appreciate about the person you engage with.  This way, you remain feeling positive and there’s less chance that you are drawn toward the energetic level of the people around you.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

I’d love to have my own loft in Utrecht, from which I can look out of the city.  I see myself making a lot of trips around the world, with Utrecht as my home base.

I envision that Wandertale has grown toward a successful and inspiring company and that I have managed to become my own start-up investor.  I’ve probably had a couple more entrepreneurial ideas which I acted upon.   All very exciting to think about!

How can people find out more about you and make contact with you?

Very interesting interview Alison! It was nice to read about Jennifer’s story and how she started to live in alignment with herself. It’s true, hustling gets very tiring and we all feel like that’s all we can do in life otherwise we won’t make it. It’s very encouraging to see that she did make it and is now focusing on her well being! I have to make a more conscious effort to do that because I think my first instinct is to please others regardless of what happens to me. Thanks for sharing!

I have certainly learned a lot from Jennifer! I won’t lie, it isn’t easy to let go of the things that hold us back but it’s definitely possible. Jennifer is proof!

Such a great interview Alison, I definitely need to learn from Jennifer. I feel like I’m just stuck at the moment and the idea of going traveling sounds so appealing right now, it’s just being brave enough to do it and feeling like I have too many responsibilities to go off and do it. It’s very inspiring that Jennifer has gone and started off her dream, I think I need to work out what I want to do for the future.

I know the feeling Chloe! I’m going back over the course, the Law of Attraction stuff is really powerful. My dream is to leave my job and become self-employed. I also have the same dream of an attic loft apartment as Jennifer does which was a bit spooky 😀 Apparently visualising it all can make it happen!
